This is our Beginner’s Workshop for 2018 . The workshop will be conducted over a two day period on 24 and 25 February 2018. The workshops will be supervised by Michael Gait, President of the Guild who has been involved with the Guild and leather craft for the past 5 years.
This Notebook cover will be made in coloured leather. The students will be required to do cutting and stitching to finally finish this quality cover.
The students will be required to do wet moulding which will shape the credit card holder for the safe containment of credit cards etc.
The credit card holder will need to be dyed and stitched.
Both of the workshops will advance the skills of detail cutting and stitching, dyeing and burnishing edges.
The cost for the workshop materials will be $10 each day, in addition to the cost of the workshop.
Stitching pony (if you have one)
Sharp knife (Stanley knife or the like)
2 Irwin quick grip clamps approx. 30 cm (these will be very useful for future workshops and home use).
If you are interested in attending the above workshops, could you please let Michael Gait know as soon as possible on firstname.lastname@example.org. The cutoff date is 17th February 2018. This will allow Michael to purchase all the relevant materials.
